The woreda is home for two indigenous nations of Gamo and Zayse. These have their own unique culture of dressing, way of life, traditional food and drinks, language, history and traditional music, traditional music instruments, cultural dance etc. these nations live with the rest of Ethiopians in peace and harmony.
